Project Management and Documentation
[00:00–00:00:40]
We mainly use the system to focus on timelines and ensure that all project tasks and documentation are completed accurately. It’s been especially helpful in identifying and managing risks and issues through dedicated registers — such as our risk register and issues register.
We’ve also created a decision log, where we record every important decision or communication, even if it’s just an email. This means we no longer have to dig through inboxes later to find key project details. It’s helped us consolidate and centralize all project information in one place.
Governance and Consistency
[00:00:40–00:01:10]
We have a governance model that defines the minimum requirements for each project type. Each project manager follows a consistent checklist to ensure all necessary steps are completed.
This approach guarantees that, regardless of who manages a project, the process remains consistent across the organization. It also ensures that our reporting to stakeholders and C-level executives is uniform, accurate, and reliable.
Approvals and Compliance
[00:01:10–00:01:55]
The tool allows us to track and document all required approvals throughout the project lifecycle. All supporting materials — including contracts, vendor documents, and correspondence — are stored in one location for easy reference.
This centralized documentation is particularly important for regulatory reviews. When regulators or examiners request information, we can quickly provide every detail of the project’s history. This helps prevent compliance issues and ensures that all quality assurance (QA) requirements are met.
We also use a QA checklist to verify that all documentation is complete and properly filed before a project closes.
Dashboards and Reporting
[00:02:00–00:02:30]
We love the dashboards for reporting — they make data easy to interpret through visualizations like pie charts and graphs. This helps stakeholders quickly grasp project status at a glance.
Since we’re still relatively new to the Cora platform, we’re continuing to develop more in-depth reports. But even now, the dashboards provide most of what we need for clear, effective reporting.
Resource Planning and Prioritization
[00:02:30–00:03:10]
The system also helps us plan for the future by showing what resources will be available for upcoming projects. It lets us assess whether we can take on new initiatives or if we’ll need to pause or reschedule some work.
When large or high-priority programs come in — especially regulatory projects with strict deadlines — we can easily identify which projects to delay in order to meet compliance obligations. This visibility allows us to make strategic, informed decisions about resource allocation and prioritization.
