DCMS Migrates to Cora PPM

Media Release|Dublin, Ireland – 23 October 2018:

Cora Systems, a leading provider of enterprise portfolio and project management solutions, has announced that the UK’s Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) will migrate to its new Cora PPM solution.

DCMS has been using Cora software for several years to help manage the delivery of the government’s superfast broadband and local fibre networks to over 95% of UK premises.

Cora Systems has spent €3 million on its new solution platform, Cora PPM. It has created a new user-interface (UI) experience and added to its functionality. In raw numbers, Cora’s R&D team has refactored and optimised 30% of the product’s core components; 75+ features have been redesigned for an improved UI/UX experience; there has been 300+ individual pages and screen changes and 500+ user stories added in the team backlog; as well as the addition of 8+ new features to the new Cora PPM platform.

In order to roll out its national superfast broadband program, DCMS has a significant portfolio to manage on its Cora PPM system, including its Local Full Fibre Networks Program, which potentially could end up being a £3-5bn program running out to 2033. There is also scope for wider adoption of Cora PPM across some of DCMS’s other programs.

Justin Leese, Program Director, Local Full Fibre Networks, DCMS said: “We are happily using the Cora PPM tool to manage the portfolio of projects that make up our £1.7bn Superfast Program and £294m Local Full Fibre Networks Program. It works well at a low level for project planning, risk and issues, change logs, benefits tracking, weekly reports, etc. Then the PMO can roll up and summarize that low-level data into a program/portfolio view. Cloud-based so pretty quick to get going too.”

Paul Rees, UK Country Manager, Cora Systems said: “It speaks volumes about the work and investment we’ve put into the new Cora PPM platform that DCMS have decided to migrate to Cora PPM. The new platform simplifies DCMS’s portfolio management, and in particular its risk management and consolidated status reporting. They love the executive dashboards, and I know that Cora PPM’s enhanced and improved usability, too, was a big factor in migrating onto the new platform for DCMS.”
