Introduction
Cora Systems, a provider of enterprise project and portfolio management solutions, announces today that it has been recognized by industry analysts Gartner in its annual 2021 Magic Quadrant for Strategic Portfolio Management[1] report, which has just been published.
“Gartner defines strategic portfolio management (SPM) as a set of business capabilities, processes and supporting technology required for enterprise-wide portfolio management and adaptation, as well as successful digital business transformation and scaling. IT leaders, business leaders and enterprise portfolio management office (EPMO) leaders all require SPM to support enterprise-wide strategy-to-execution alignment and adaptation. SPM technology must allow each of these different leaders to engage in portfolio management activities and decision making in the context matching the role they play in portfolio management activities.”
According to Gartner,
“SPM technology can be used to create portfolios with varying themes and allows users to create, define and map many types of portfolio elements. Users can create multiple types of portfolios, categories and alignments with focused themes, such as programs, digital products, physical products, business or IT services, projects, and applications. SPM technology can also link and cross-reference elements in different portfolios and categories to support integrated portfolio analysis and tracking.”
“SPM technologies are intentionally separated from the need and use of adaptive project management and reporting technologies, which are focused on supporting an evolving set of detailed project and work execution approaches for continuous delivery.”
In the report, Cora PPM’s scenario creation and comparison tools; the what-if analysis; and dynamic workflow process capability have been recognized. Cora’s companion native mobile apps, for the major mobile platforms; iOS and Android, has been recognized as well. These mobile apps are primarily focused around the daily activities of a user, their approvals, activities, risks assignment, timesheet and expenses tracking.
Philip Martin, CEO, Cora Systems, said:
“This is a game-changer for us. We’ve worked incredibly hard over the last couple of years to get to this position – to be able to eat at the table with the best project and portfolio management providers in the industry. We’ve always had a simple philosophy: we want to help our clients to get their portfolio selection right – and to manage those projects properly so they can make better investment decisions. Cora PPM delivers that ability.”
