Job Summary:
The Head of Infrastructure will be responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and maintenance of our DevOps processes and systems. This role requires a deep understanding of Microsoft technologies, Azure cloud services, and best practices in Infrastructure to ensure the seamless integration and deployment of our SaaS products. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in leading DevOps teams, optimizing CI/CD pipelines, and ensuring the security, scalability, and reliability of cloud infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Strategy:
Lead and manage the DevOps team, providing mentorship, guidance, and career development.
Develop and implement a strategic vision for the DevOps function in alignment with business goals.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement, automation, and innovation within the team.
Technical Oversight:
Oversee the design, implementation, and management of CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.
Ensure the availability, performance, scalability, and security of cloud infrastructure on Azure.
Collaborate with software development teams to integrate DevOps best practices into the software development lifecycle.
Implement infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools such as ARM templates, Terraform, or Azure Resource Manager.
Process Improvement:
Identify and implement automation opportunities to enhance efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for DevOps processes and systems.
Drive the adoption of DevOps practices such as continuous integration, continuous deployment, and automated testing.
Security and Compliance:
Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, implementing robust security practices across the DevOps lifecycle.
Manage and mitigate risks related to cloud infrastructure, data privacy, and application security.
Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
Collaboration and Communication:
Work closely with cross-functional teams including development, QA, operations, and product management to deliver high-quality software.
Communicate DevOps strategies, goals, and progress to senior management and stakeholders.
Act as a liaison between development teams and IT operations to resolve issues and improve system reliability.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
7+ years of experience in DevOps, with a strong focus on Microsoft technologies and Azure cloud.
Proven experience in leading and managing DevOps teams.
Expertise in Azure DevOps, Azure cloud services, and infrastructure as code (IaC).
Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and deployment strategies.
Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
Solid knowledge of networking, security, and compliance best practices in a cloud environment.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Skills:
Certification in Azure DevOps Engineer, Azure Solutions Architect, or related areas.
Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, or Splunk.
Knowledge of agile methodologies and practices.
Note: This role can be based in Dublin, or Carrick On Shannon, Co. Leitrim, Ireland
