Developed over 30 years ago Microsoft Excel is a widely used electronic spreadsheet program.
Although its intended functionality has mainly been for mathematical computations and accounting purposes people and teams within organizations have managed to use Excel for project management activities. So why have people used Excel for Project Management? Mainly because it is easy-to-use, there are different types of project management templates to choose from and many organizations are already using the Microsoft Office suite. Companies who are dealing with many projects in multiple locations, however, cannot afford to use MS Excel because of its limitations.
